Cat Picture

It’s what the Internet was made for apparently.
What are the chances of a cat staying still long enough for me to put a Speedlight with a small soft-box next to it, and take a shot? Using the technique +Glyn Dewis described for his fantastic recent dog portraits: www.glyndewis.com/new-picture-border-collie-plus-lighting… , I managed to get not one but several frames. Light from a Nikon SB900 in a small softbox with a nice big recess to prevent spill, as the "background" (ie the back of the sofa) was only 2 or 3 inches behind his head. Power on manual 1/64, camera on f/8, 1/200th and ISO 64.

This is our large tomcat, Rosie (some vets should really get their eyes tested). He looked at the light, and I stopped when the ears went back 😛

He does look all cute and innocent here, so, as an antithesis to all those cute cat videos on Facebook see this post
